Sundays
Christians Gather Together

Sunday Morning Welcome

The Christian life is a life lived with others. Anyone who has truly come into a relationship with Jesus Christ has been adopted into God's family and being part of the family of God includes getting together with other brothers and sisters in Christ. Christian faith brings a person into Christian community.

Like any family, we love to get together.  We gather at 10.00am to pray, thank God and encourage each other by singing songs of Christian truth, listen to God’s word through the Bible reading and Bible talk, celebrate communion, baptise new Christians, and more! Our meeting is about 75 minutes long.

Sunday mornings are informal - you'll see that in the clothes people wear and the friendly conversations that happen over coffee & tea after the meeting.

There are separate programmes that run during the service for children: a Crèche for toddlers under 5 years old; Kidzown for 5-10 year olds; and an Intermediates Group.

Sunday Morning Sermons

Preaching and teaching from the Bible is an important part of our time as we gather as a church.  In 1 Timothy 4:13, the Apostle Paul urged his co-worker Timothy and the church at Ephesus:

Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching.

Four core convictions frame our understanding of how God's word works among us:

  • God is a speaking God
  • God reveals himself through his words
  • God's words are powerful and shape reality
  • Scripture is God's word for us

Therefore, we believe that when the Bible is taught clearly and faithfully, God's voice is heard.

Sunday Morning Music

Singing and music are an important part of our life together, especially in our Sunday gatherings. In Colossians 3:16 the apostle Paul encourages us to

Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.

You can hear a sample of the songs we sing on Sundays in this playlist.

Frequently Asked Questions

Finding out more about Jesus is the most important thing anyone could do! Thankfully, God has told us everything we need to know about Jesus in the Bible. So you could pick up a Bible and start reading (for example, start with the book in the Bible called “Mark”).

But often it’s good to have someone help us know where to begin, and someone we can answer our questions. Make yourself known to one of the church's leaders, and we’d be happy to help.

So you’ve taken a good look at who Jesus is, and what Christianity is all about. And now you want to become a Christian? That’s great news! All you really need to do is talk to God (pray), and tell him that.

But it will help to let someone else know, someone who can pray with you and help you work out how to grow in maturity, ministry and mission. Have a chat to someone at church who you know is a Christian, or talk to one of the church's leaders.

If your question hasn’t been answered here we’ll be happy to chat! You could fill in a ‘newcomer's card’ (found on the table at the back of the auditorium), chat to a pastor or elder any Sunday, or call/email our church office during the week.
There are times in life when we need extra help. Sometimes we require spiritual or emotional help/input, at other times we need practical help or care. Sometimes you’d simply like someone else to be aware of what’s going on and to pray for you.

If you require particular help, please chat to a pastor or elder at church. Alternatively you could call/email the church office during the week. From there we can agree on what help is available, or if there is someone else that we could refer you on to.

The Christianity Explored website is a good place to begin your thinking about who Jesus is and what it means to be a Christian. There is a short video explanation about Jesus, as well as some answers to tough questions, along with a collection of real life stories of people who have come to know and love Jesus.
